"This is
so long coming and I am sorry. I want to tell you how grateful I am
in the adoption of my amazon parrot. I think you made a big mistake
because he is the worlds most perfect bird. I vowed I would never
have another bird when my little Harry died, I threw away his cage..everything.
There was not one day that went by that he didn't do something to
make me laugh, and the times he bit my ear (when I was on the phone)
will not be expressed at this moment. Slowly I found myself hanging
out in pet shops talking to the birds and laughing that I began to
have second thoughts. I must admit it was love at first sight when
I saw Peekachoo. He had me at "Hello" and then he laughed
and asked me, "Are you a good boy". Latter he told me, "I
love you my precious baby". I was in love! He had a bit of a
sad story. He was rescued in New york his owner had died and his little
cage buddy died defending him. I took him home in a wrapped in a cuddly
blanket he was so tame. I left him alone without attempting to bother
him for a few days. I wanted him to feel secure and loved. My vet
said he was probably ancient but this I truly know...he was so loved,
and his gentleness inspires me. I think birds are a direct link to
"God" Each has a distinct personality and so individual
and when you get to know them intimately you come to realize that
they are creatures capable of love and more intelligent than we think
possible.
Nightly we have "love in's". I place him on my chest while
watching T.V. giving neck tickles, rubbing his back, and smoothing
out his wing feathers He even lets me rub under his wings! It's in
these moments I am positive my blood pressure goes down many points.
I become stress free! When I give him a shower he lifts his wings
as if to say..."Don't forget the pits". When the dog barks
he becomes "Super Parrot" and sqwalks loudly to sound the
alarm. I am very impressed so much sound can come from so small a
bird! When I have company he chimes right in talking and laughing
which helps when there is a lull in the conversation. His gentleness
is what astounds me! Sometimes he holds my finger in his beak so I
can rub his neck and cheek. Truly he not only inspires me but gives
me so much pleasure...I am sooo in love. Thank you for your kindness
and this wonderful beautiful bird. When you adopt out know the joy
you provide happiness for both the person and the bird.
God Bless you and Thank You from the bottom of my
heart.
