Ten Things NOT to Say to a Rescuer
-
-
I
want a green parrot that talks.
Be more specific, there are a multitude of green parrots
that can talk in various sizes, which affects cage size, exercise
area, food requirements etc.

-
Oh,
I’ll take anything.
That tells me that you have not done your homework. As
a bird owner, you are responsible for the quality of life and care
of the bird. Different species of birds have specific requirements
and needs. A birds is dependent upon you to thrive. Finding a good
fit between a bird and its owner is paramount in making a decision!
-
I’ll
take all you have.
At times we have over a hundred parrots to adopt--I think
NOT! Hoarding is not only un-healthy, it detracts from the birds
quality of life and the time you have available to give emotional
nourishment and exercise to the bird.
-
What’s
to know, they eat seed don’t they?
OOPs, wrong answer. NO!!!
For more info go to: www.pet-parrots.com
-
Do
I need a cage?
YES, and different birds have different cage requirements.
For more info go to: www.pet-parrots.com

I
know all about birds, my grandfather raised finches.
Then adopting a Finch is a nice start….
-
If
it’s free, it’s for me.
Owning and properly caring for a bird requires major commitment,
dedication, and the available resources to properly care for the
bird. Can you meet those emotional, dietary, time, “financial,”
and living and play space requirements?
-
I
want a white bird because they’re so cute and cuddly.
Back to the drawing board - check out www.mytoos.com
-
I
want a pink bird to match my kitchen.
What happens when you change your kitchen……?
Nope, color dyeing a bird is NOT an option…..
